Job Title: Sales + Impact Representative
Territory: North Carolina, Virginia, Eastern Maryland & District of Columbia
Reports to: Regional Sales Manager
Scope: Individual Contributor, P4
Location: Work-from-Home (must reside in or be willing to relocate to North Carolina or Virginia)
General Summary
The Sales + Impact Representative is responsible for achieving company revenue targets, implementing brand marketplace experiences, maintaining existing retailer relationships and building new ones. Our Impact focuses on educating and inspiring retailer’s staff, and customers on Patagonia’s responsible business practices, including leadership in environmental activism. What You’ll Do:
Achieve Financial Targets
- Daily focus on achieving sales targets aligning with Patagonia’s values.
- Build quality assortments focused on long-term business health reflective of retailer and Patagonia goals.
- Consultative selling based on data analysis, and retailer/Patagonia definition of success.
- Maintain holistic understanding of Patagonia’s business in territory, including Patagonia direct, and national retailers.
Elevate Brand Presentation
- Collaborate with Marketplace Experience team to bring product, sport, and mission to life through elevated merchandising and digital story telling.
- Meaningful engagement with key partners focused on their unique needs: merchandising, business meetings, staff education, or events.
- Provide regular updates to manager on market, retailer, and product performance.
- Respond to dealer and company communication within 24 hours.
Increase Mission +Impact
- Utilize 18 activism hours annually and share experiences with team.
- Inspire and galvanize Patagonia customers through retailer and community activations.
How You’ll Spend Your Time:
- This is an account facing position. Regular in person engagement with retailers is critical to success and must be proportional to office work.
- Financial goals are annual, so focus is balanced between pre-season and in-season sales targets.
Experience You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 3+ years' sales representative experience working with Outdoor industry specialty retailers.
- Knowledge and understanding of the outdoor market, sports, trends, and values.
- Brand elevation in-store and online through marketing activations and merchandising.
- Retail staff training
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite focused on Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience analyzing brand reporting, and retailer sell-through data.
- Examples of community involvement, and/or activism experience focused on the environment.
- Partnering, collaborating, and building relationships with all levels of an organization.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. sample bags and show displays for up to 100 feet.
- Full time residence based in assigned regional territory.
- Comfortable with extensive travel (100+ nights/year on the road) both in and outside of the territory.
Hiring Range: $145,000 to $165,000 USD Annual
At Patagonia, pay ranges are assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget. Note the full pay range for this role ranges from $148,800 to $214,200 USD Annual. The Hiring Range reflects where in the range we intend to hire for this role.
